Legacy Voices: Insights from Dr. MaryEllen Vogt

Introductory Paragraph:  Dr. Vogt is Professor Emerita from California State University–Long Beach. Prior to becoming a literacy professor, she served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, special education teacher, and district reading resource teacher. She has provided professional development in literacy and the SIOP Model throughout the United States and abroad and has co-authored 17 professional texts. Currently, after school, she teaches children with literacy challenges in a local intervention program. For fun, she sings and performs with the Pops Chorale and a local theater group. She and her husband live in northern California, and her happiest time is when they are with her four children and five grandchildren. She can be reached at [email protected].
