Document: Column
Introductory Paragraph: “Legacy Voices” is a column devoted to providing readers with informative interviews with seminal researchers and respected practitioners in the field of literacy from within our country and around the world. Recently, I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. Patricia Edwards. She is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in family engagement and has written several books on the topic. She has served as chair of AERA Family, School, Community Partnership SIG #43 and as president of the International Literacy Association and the Literacy Research Association. She was recently appointed by Governor Whitmer to the 2020-2024 Michigan PreK-12 Literacy Commission. She can be reached at [email protected].
