Insights from Illinois Authors: A Conversation with Jessie Ann Foley

Introductory Paragraph:  When the IRC and Illinois Reads Honorary Chairman, Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White, announced the 2020 book titles, they selected Sorry for Your Loss by Jessie Ann Foley as one of the titles for grades 9-12! Before becoming an award-winning author, Jessie taught high school English for 10 years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Later, she attended Columbia College Chicago to earn an MFA in Fiction Writing. Jessie and her husband live in Chicago with their three daughters.
