November 8, 2008: Secondary Reading League will host the 32nd Day of Reading with featured speakers Lois Duncan and Cris Tovani. If you'd like to request a program proposal, please contact Barb Chrz-White by email or by phone at (847) 699-0797. You can also download a form at the Day of Reading website.
February 7, 2009: Secondary Reading League will host an event from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Holiday Inn Willowbrook, Rte 83 & I-55, Willowbrook, Illinois. More information will be available soon.
February 21-25, 2009: International Reading Association will host its 54th Annual Convention Beyond the Horizon featuring Two Great Events in Two Great Cities. In February, IRA will host Multiple, Pathways to Literacy in Phoenix, Arizona. IRA will host Reading, Writing, and Conversations from May 3-7, 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. March 19-21, 2009: IRC Conference, Reading! Engage! Excite! Ignite!, in Springfield, Illinois. Please take a moment to peruse the Preliminary Program highlighting
the ENGAGING authors and EXCITING speakers awaiting you at the 2009
Conference that are sure to IGNITE your passion for reading! The early Registration deadline is February 1, 2009. The Housing Form is due to the Springfield Convention Vistors Bureau (SCVB) by February 15, 2009.
March 19-21, 2009: Secondary Reading League
will be hosting a “Secondary Reading Strand” at the IRC Conference. Look for a list of breakouts and speakers in future newsletters and on our website.
April 16, 2009: Secondary Reading League
will host a Book Talk with Anderson's Bookstore from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. More
