November 7, 2008: MID-State Reading Council will sponsor the Carnival of Reading at 6:30-8:00 PM at Bloomington Jr. High School, 901 North Colton Avenue, Bloomington, Illinois. Join us for a Free Family Literacy Event for preschool and primary-grade children and their families. Highlights of the evening include stories by Kay Price, a professional storyteller, facepainting, clowns and balloons, a book walk to win free children's books, and much more. The evening also includes free popcorn and lemonade. So invite your students and their families for this FREE Family Event today!!!

February 21-25, 2009: International Reading Association will host its 54th Annual Convention Beyond the Horizon featuring Two Great Events in Two Great Cities. In February, IRA will host Multiple, Pathways to Literacy in Phoenix, Arizona. IRA will host Reading, Writing, and Conversations from May 3-7, 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
