March 1, 2010: East Central-EIU Reading Council is hosting a Writing Contest to win dinner with Author Eric Kimmel and an autographed book. The winning classroom also receives a $50 gift certificate to a Teacher's Store and an autographed book. Contest details are available and submissions are due by March 1st. All entries will be displayed at the Eric Kimmel event on March 22nd.
March 18-20, 2010: IRC Conference, Lighting the Way to Literacy, in Springfield, Illinois. Please take a moment to peruse the Conference Preliminary Program highlighting
the
highly respected leaders in the field of reading who will brighten your
way in teaching the children who will be our future leaders. Early
registration is available until February 1, 2010. Conference housing
closes on February 24, 2010.
March 22, 2010: East Central-EIU Reading Council
will host an event with Author Eric Kimmel from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
at Eastern Illinois University, 1501 Buzzard, 600 Lincoln Avenue, Charleston,
Illinois.
April 12, 2010: East Central-EIU Reading Council
will present Great Books! 40 Books in 40 Minutes! with Anieta Trame from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
at Eastern Illinois University, 1501 Buzzard, 600 Lincoln Avenue, Charleston,
Illinois.
April 17, 2010: East Central-EIU Reading Council
will participate in the Leaders As Readers at Cross County Mall, 700 Broadway Mall, Mattoon, Illinois.
April 25-28, 2010: International Reading Association will host the 55th Annual Convention Reading in Many Languages in Chicago, Illinois. To find out more about this exciting convention, check out the Annual Convention section at www.reading.org.
