IRC offers a training manual for America Reads Challenge Tutors, Making a Difference One Student At a Time.  The manual gives a background for the America Reads Challenge Program.  While discussing the definition of reading and characteristics of students, the manual gives likely characteristics of America Reads Challenge Students and general information for tutoring.  It also explores reading difficulties that children may face.
