Thousands of literacy advocates, educators, and researchers will gather from October 1-3, 2015 for the 48th Annual IRC Conference, Passport to Possibilities, at the Peoria Civic Center and Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette Hotel in Peoria, Illinois.
Registering? Pre-register for the 2015 IRC Conference by returning the Registration Form by Mail/Fax or on the secured Online Conference Registration System. Please note that early registration with discounted prices ends on August 15, 2015! On-site registration is recommended for those registering after September 15, 2015. Please note that the meal functions require pre-purchased tickets and will not be available for purchase on-site. Individuals who need special accommodations must make specific requests in writing to the IRC Office at least three weeks prior to the conference. Not an IRC Member? Register today for $205 and it includes your conference registration for $160 and membership fees for $45 for a savings of $5. Fill out the conference registration form ONLY and indicating your preferred local or special interest council to join.
Interested in Group Rates? Discounted rates are available for groups of 10+ participants. For more information, please see the Group Registration Form.
Housing Reservations? Special rates have been negotiated at Peoria area hotels. To obtain these special rates, reservations must be made directly with the hotels either by phone or online by August 15, 2015. Some of the East Peoria Hotels will provide guests with complimentary shuttle to and from the Peoria Civic Center. Shuttle arrangements can be made directly with the front desk at each hotel. Join the IRC Book Club? Educators from around the state will be participating in a book study. Choice of two books: Teach Like a Pirate by Dave Burgess or The Book Whispererby Donalyn Miller. Participants must sign up by June 30th eitheronline or by mail/fax. If you participate in all assignments, you will be eligible to receive 15 clock hours for each book. No partial credit will be given. The book study is FREE for IRC Members. The cost for non-members is $45 for the book club, which includes IRC Membership for one year. All participants can attend sessions with Dave Burgess and/or Donalyn Miller at the conference. Conference registration and cost of the book are not included.
Order a Conference Shirt? Preorder your shirt by September 15, 2015! Conference Shirts can be placed online or by mail/fax. Only preorders will be available for pick-up at the IRC Conference near the Registration Area in the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. Shirts will not be available for purchase at the conference.
Interested in CPDUs or University Course Credit? Forms for CLOCK HOURS will be available at the conference in your Final Program Book. Conferees can also earn one to three hours of college course credit while attending the conference from the University of St. Francis.
Interested in Volunteering? IRC is looking for volunteers to work at the 2015 IRC Conference in the registration booth, at conference events, and in many other areas. Interested in Exhibiting? IRC is accepting Exhibit Booth Registrations to exhibit at the 2015 IRC Conference. The exhibit location is in the Peoria Civic Center. Please call the IRC Office if you would like to be added to our exhibitor mailing list. All booth spaces will be sold on a "first come, first served" basis.
