IRC will hold its 44th Annual Conference, Literacy in the Land of Lincoln, from March 15-17, 2012 at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, Hilton Springfield Hotel, and Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Illinois.

  • Registering?  Pre-register for the 2012 IRC Conference by returning the Registration Form by Mail/Fax or on the secured Online Conference Registration System.  Please note that early registration with discounted prices ends on February 1, 2012!  On-site registration is recommended for those registering after March 2, 2012.  Please note that the meal functions require pre-purchased tickets and will not be available for purchase on-site.  Individuals who need special accommodations must make specific requests in writing to the IRC Office at least three weeks prior to the conference.  Please take a moment to read the complete General Conference Information including the cancelation/refund policy to explore and experience LITERACY in the Land of Lincoln at the 2012 IRC Conference.
  • Not an IRC Member?  If you join IRC today, register for the conference at the member prices!  Please complete the separate membership form either by mail/fax or with the secure Online Membership System.  Then, proceed to process your conference registration form and note "Just Joined" where it asks for your membership number!
  • Housing Reservations?  Over 1,200 rooms have been reserved for the 2012 IRC Conference at special rates.  To obtain these special rates, reservations must be made through the Online Housing Reservation System by February 22, 2012.  After February 22nd, all rooms that have not been reserved will be released for general sale.  Please note that a confirmation email will be emailed to you from the Housing Bureau upon completion of your housing reservations.  Closer to the conference, you will also receive an another email confirmation from your selected hotel.  Please keep these confirmations for your records.  Please make any changes/cancelations to your reservations through this system until February 22, 2012.  After February 22nd, please make changes directly with the hotel. 
  • Interested in Volunteering?  IRC is looking for volunteers to work at the 2012 IRC Conference in the registration booth, at conference events, and in many other areas.  If interested, please take a moment to fill out the Conference Volunteer Form by March 1, 2012.  Thank you!  Your help is much appreciated!
  • Free Shuttle Service?  IRC will provide FREE Shuttle Service between all the hotels except the on-site hotels listed and the Prairie Capital Convention Center on Thursday and Friday.  Shuttles run approximately every 45-60 minutes from 6:15 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Night shuttles run every 90 minutes from 6:15 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.  On Saturday, there are many parking options available and on-street metered parking is FREE!

  • Interested in University Course Credit?  Conferees attending the 2012 IRC Conference can earn one hour of course credit while attending the conference from National-Louis University.  The Graduate Registration Form must be submitted by March 5, 2012. 

  • Interested in Exhibiting?  IRC is accepting Exhibit Booth Registrations to exhibit at the 2012 IRC Conference.  The exhibit location is in the Prairie Capital Convention Center, One Capital Convention Center Plaza, Springfield, Illinois.  Please call the IRC Office if you would like to be added to our exhibitor mailing list.  All booth spaces will be sold on a "first come, first served" basis.
